One of the key updates is that volunteer opportunities are no longer restricted to events. Now, organizations can create and manage volunteer roles independently—whether for ongoing programs, community initiatives, or one-time needs—allowing for a more dynamic and adaptable volunteer management experience.

- Self-Reporting Made Simple: Volunteers can now submit their hours via our new Volunteer Time Entry Form or the constituent portal. Once they enter and submit their time, their contact record automatically records their hours for easy tracking.
- Streamlined Manual Entry: Organizations can now also add volunteer hours directly from the contact record or volunteer post. Navigate to either and click the plus sign or Enter Time.
- Quick and Comprehensive Reporting: Easily generate reports summarizing volunteer hours with the Track Time report. Filter by post, event, date, and more to get the insights you need.
Effortless Volunteer Recruitment
Bringing in new volunteers is now more convenient with two powerful features:
- Out-of-the-Box Volunteer Sign-Up Form: Customize and share this form to list available volunteer opportunities and allow individuals to sign up with ease. Once submitted, their contact record is updated, and they are automatically added to your volunteer list.
- Constituent Portal Sign-Ups: Volunteers can now browse and sign up for opportunities directly within the portal. Once logged in, they can view both upcoming commitments and new opportunities available to them.
- Set and Track Capacity Goals: Do you need a specific number of volunteers for an event or shift? You can now set capacity goals and track sign-ups in real-time.
Seamless Volunteer Communication
Staying in touch with volunteers is key to keeping them engaged. We’ve made it more straightforward to reach out:
- Initiate Messaging Right from the Volunteer List: Easily filter volunteers by date, post, event, location, or other criteria, and send messages directly from the listing screen, eliminating the need to create separate email lists.
- Automated Confirmations: When a volunteer’s status changes from Available to Confirmed, CharityEngine automatically sends a confirmation message, ensuring they have all the details they need for their upcoming opportunity.
